Being Silly

As do most kids their age, the boys love dressing up in mommy and daddy's shoes. Here are the photos we got of them. And yes, daddy does have very big feet.

Exciting News

Matt and I are expecting!! I am 10 weeks along right now. We are due in August!! There will be no predictions from me this time. Last pregnany, I felt that it was only 1 baby (twins run in my family) and later I felt that it was a girl. Then we were blessed with 2 boys. All we can hope for this time around is a happy, healthy baby!!

The boys have the opportunity to serve a mission for our church when they turn 19. I always ask them if they will go on a mission. And they always say yes!! Here is the conversation I had with them a few weeks ago.

Mom: Mason, are you going on a mission?

Mason: Yes!

Mom: Where do you want to go?

Mason: Waterfalls!!

Mom: Oh, you want to go where there are waterfalls?

Mason: No, 2 waterfalls!!

Mom: Carter, are you going on a mission?

Carter: O tay

Mom: Where do you want to go?

Carter: Michigan (Matt's parents live in Michigan. Hee Hee!!)

This one is for Grandma Goldie

When we were living in Texas, Matt's grandma made us this pillow. When we moved back to AZ we put it in a box and forgot about it. We found it about 6 months ago and put it back on our bed. It never stays there. Carter found it and has inherited it. He absolutely loves this pillow. He carries it everywhere he goes. He even sleeps with it at times. If anyone takes it, he lets you know it is his and not to touch it!! Thank you Grandma Goldie for making this pillow. I bet you never thought how much love it would have in our home.

Buses, Airplanes, and Trains...Oh My!

The boys are completely obsessed with all of these. For about 6 months now, this is our routine day in and day out. We leave the house and I immediately hear..."buses mommy, find buses!!" And that is what we do the entire time we are on the road. We look for buses and trains and airplanes. The boys usually spot them before me. As soon as they see one they begin shouting, "bus, bus!!" They continue until I respond back to them. They get the hugest smiles on their faces and sometimes clap their hands in excitement. Then they say, "more buses, find more buses". I have been known to speed or slow down on the freeway to catch up to a bus. Anything to see them smile from ear to ear. I have people ride with me in the car and they ask me, "is this how they always are?" Whatever makes my boys happy is what I always say.

Evening in Excellence

We had Evening in Excellence this last week. I don't normally post stuff like this, but I thought I would share to maybe spark an idea for others. I can't take credit for the idea. My fabulous Sister-in-Law, Jaimee, gave it to me. We turned our gym into Eternal Gateway Mall. We had 7 stores and a food court in the middle. Each Personal Progress value was a store. These pictures do not do justice at all. The girls and their parents all loved it and so many people helped to make it a great night.

We started with the girls doing a skit about going to the mall. Then they got into groups and went to each store for a 6 minute talk on that value. They got credit cards and purses to put hand outs in from each store. Afterwards they enjoyed food from the food court. It was a great night and all had fun!!

Bad Day

I had just finished hand mopping the floor. I put Nemo on for the boys and run to get into the shower. When I get out of the shower, I go to check on them. I find Mason by the refrigerator with a cup in his hand. Water was overflowing onto my freshly mopped floor. Then I look to my left and see Carter sitting inside our entertainment center drawer and I look to see that he pooped inside of it. It has been one of those days, but then I look at these adorable pictures of my boys and I realize I absolutely love them, good day or bad!!

Tigger to the Polls

So we got the boys up this morning and told them we were going to vote. Carter came running into the kitchen with both of his tiggers and said, "Mommy tigger vote." I had to laugh and told him just mommy and daddy were voting. We got in the car and drove to the school we were going to vote at. (Thank goodness we had early ballots and just had to drop them in the box. The line was at least 2 hours long.) As I got Carter out of the car, I threw his tigger onto the seat. Carter started to cry. I asked what was wrong and he was saying,"Tigger vote, tigger vote." He was so upset that tigger didn't get to vote.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year!! The boys were the cutest UPS delivery men ever! We saw these costumes at Party City and had to get them. They were sold out across the state and I had to drive 45 minutes one way to a store that just got a shipment in. The things we do for them. These are pictures from our ward's Trunk or Treat. The boys had fun on the cake walk and fishing pond. Mommy forgot to charge the camera battery so we didn't get any photos on Halloween, but they loved trick or treating. At one point while we were out, Carter had 2 suckers in his hand and loving every minute of it. It was a sticky night, but we had a blast!

Update on PT

The boys have been doing great on Potty Training. Since Wednesday, they have had no more than 1 or 2 accidents a day. Usually, it is just the poop. That is the only issue we are having is getting them to poop in the toilet. Luckily they are only doing that once a day. Today, Matt and I were in the family room and the boys were in their room playing. Mason came running out saying Carter potty. I thought, oh no, he had an accident. We went down the hall and saw Carter sitting on the toilet. He had the biggest smile on his face and said, "I poop!" Sure enough he did poop in the toilet and he did it a lot. He didn't even tell us, he just went straight to the potty and there was none in his underwear. Mason has been doing even better than Carter. For the last 3 days, Mason's diapers have been dry after naps and even dry in the mornings when he gets up. I know not to get too excited yet. I am knocking on wood as we speak, but they have been doing so great! I learned on Tuesday that the boys need to be taught differently and since then it has been working. Hopefully it continues.

And the fun begins....

I started potty training the boys on Monday. I have been dreading this day for a while now and have been putting it off. The thought of doing 2 boys at once frightened me. Actually, it ended up being easier, I think, doing 2 at a time. They helped remind each other to go and fed off the other getting candy and wanting some too. The boys were so excited to wear their new underwear. I bought 19 pairs of Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, and Elmo. I hoped that would be enough! The boys started out doing really bad. We went through 12 underwear's in the first 2 hours. I called my sister telling her I was going to give up. But then they did better. Much better. Mason started to figure out that by just going a little bit in the toilet, he could get candy. I never give the boys candy so this was a big deal. I think in the 4th hour he went 29 times. Yes, that number is correct and between Carter and him I was in the bathroom the entire hour. Mason would go potty, get half of a starburst, swallow it, then say he needs to go potty again. And each time he went. We figured out he just needed to go more each time. They both had sippy cups attached to them the entire day filled with juice. Thank Heavens for Capri Sun flavored water.

They continued to do great throughout the day. I think I had 2 more accidents the rest of the day. I can't complain about that. It was just very, very exhausting. I couldn't get anything done, which was fine. I planned on spending the entire day devoted to the potty, which I did literally.

On day 2, they had a few accidents in the morning again. We didn't go potty as much as the first day. Maybe they were getting sick of the candy?? In the afternoon things went downhill. Carter got confused and thought his underwear was the toilet. He never went potty in the toilet, but 2 seconds later he went in his pants. UHHH! The frustration set in, but I kept my patience (at least I tried). Three hours later, 20 tries on the potty, and a lot of tears and he finally went in the toilet. It is still a work in progress and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

I started potty training the boys today. It has been going very well, but who would of thought it would be so exhausting!!! I am so tired so you will have to hear all about it later this week. Enjoy these silly boys in their new underwear!!

Mother's Nature

For FHE this week, we went to this Pumpkin Patch. The boys absolutely loved it. Carter is going through this stage of having a CHEESY smile and that is an understatement. But we love it!! I know I have been so TERRIBLE at updating the blog, but I hope to get back into the swing of things. The boys are the smartest, cutest things ever. I am really the luckiest mom in the world and love every minute with them. I know there are a ton of pictures here, but it has been a while.

Big Boy Beds

I know Carter was in a bed a few months back, but he didn't do good at all. He was up 5-8 times a night and none of us got any sleep. We realized we could lower the crib one more notch and take the bumper out and he never tried to get out again. But we felt it was time to get them both in beds. The first night they played for about 30 minutes in their room. Then they fell asleep. This is what we found when we went in to check on them. They were asleep in Carter's bed together. It was the sweetest thing ever.

Summer Buzzes

We got home from the Bahamas and the boys hair was so long. Longer than it ever has been. So we decided to give them a buzz. I tried to get them to look at the camera and smile in the photos, but as you can tell that didn't happen. These were the best ones.
